“Welcome to green team”
Han River that crosses the center of Seoul is the essential foundation of life for Seoul citizens.
However, it has suffered the pollution and exploitation following the city development since 1980s.
In an effort to protect the Han River, Yeouido Saetgang Eco Park was built in 1997 as Korea’s first ever Ecological Park.
You can help preserve the environment.
Restore and protect the natural habitats around Han River by doing various different activities such as planting trees, removing harmful organisms, and building birds nest etc.
The work will vary day by day depending on the weather condition and the priority of task determined by the Eco Park managers.
Such efforts led to returning of the otters, once left due to polluted habitat, coming back to Han river as their new home.

What happens when I arrive at my program destination?
When you arrive at your destination, you will be greeted at the airport. Our local team will take you to the volunteer accommodation.
Before beginning your volunteer program, you will attend a program orientation which is hosted by the local team to give you an introduction to the local culture, safety advice, transport options, rules and expectations, your placement and weekend travel opportunities.
Our local team is available 24/7 to provide support to you during your volunteer program.
Will I be working with other volunteers?
The number of other volunteers varies by program and time of year. Some programs may host dozens of volunteers at the same time, while on others there may only be two or three other volunteers.
Can I go traveling or sightseeing during the weekend of my volunteer program?
Sure! You will have your free time and weekends available to explore more of Korea. Our local team will be happy to provide recommendations for trips that you can take.
Do I need to be able to speak the local language?
For the most part, volunteers are generally only required to speak English to participate in our program. But if you are interested in Korean and want to learn the basics of Korean, please let our staff know. We have a Korean class too. The more you can speak and converse in the local language, the more you will be able to immerse yourself into the program and local culture!
